Sales & Shipping Policy

Sales & Shipping Policy

(Radioactive & Non-Radioactive Materials)

1. General Sales Policy

All mineral, fossil, meteorite, and related specimens sold by this store are offered as collectible, educational, and research specimens. Natural specimens may exhibit variations in color, texture, crystal form, or surface features.

We make every effort to accurately describe and photograph all items. All sales are considered final unless otherwise stated, except in cases of shipping damage, loss, or clear error on our part.

2. Radioactive Minerals – Sales Restrictions & Shipping Policy

Due to the rapidly changing global security environment and increasingly restrictive customs enforcement related to radioactive materials, all radioactive mineral sales are now restricted to Canada only.

Effective immediately:

  • Radioactive mineral specimens are sold and shipped within Canada only.
  • International shipments are limited exclusively to recognized professional institutions, including universities, museums, government agencies, or licensed research laboratories, and require prior approval and documentation.
  • We will no longer ship to, purchase from, or source radioactive mineral specimens from the United States, regardless of destination.

Despite full regulatory compliance, private international shipments of radioactive minerals have become increasingly unpredictable due to heightened screening, inconsistent customs interpretation, and seizure risk.

We sincerely and profusely apologize to our international customers for this change. We are deeply grateful for the trust and support shown by our past international clients and thank you for your understanding.

3. Regulatory Compliance (CNSC)

All radioactive mineral specimens sold by this store are naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) and are handled, stored, packaged, and sold in compliance with applicable Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulations, including regulations governing:

  • The sale and possession of naturally occurring radioactive material
  • Exemption limits for unlicensed ownership
  • Safe handling, storage, and transportation practices

Specimens are sold in quantities and activity levels that do not require the buyer to hold a CNSC license for possession, unless otherwise explicitly stated.

Buyers are responsible for ensuring their ownership, storage, and use of radioactive minerals remain compliant with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.

4. Buyer Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk (Radioactive Materials)

By purchasing any radioactive mineral specimen from this site, the buyer explicitly acknowledges and agrees that:

  • They understand the specimen contains naturally occurring radioactive material.
  • They are fully aware of and accept all risks associated with ownership, including handling, storage, display, and long-term possession.
  • Specimens are purchased strictly for mineralogical collecting, educational, or legitimate research purposes only.
  • The buyer assumes full responsibility for safe storage, responsible handling, and regulatory compliance after purchase.

No radioactive mineral specimens are sold for consumer, household, or casual use.

5. Radiation Safety & Prohibited Uses

We take radiation safety extremely seriously.

Accordingly:

  • We do not recommend, endorse, or support the use of radioactive minerals for:
    • Crystal healing
    • Metaphysical practices
    • Alternative or folk medicine
    • Radiation therapy
    • Any wellness, medical, or therapeutic application
  • We do not sell radioactive minerals for these purposes, and orders indicating such intent may be refused or cancelled.
  • There are no radioactive minerals that are safe for healing, medical, or therapeutic use in any form.

Any claims suggesting health benefits from radioactive minerals are scientifically unsupported and potentially dangerous.

6. Non-Radioactive Materials – Sales & Shipping

Non-radioactive materials may be sold and shipped domestically and internationally unless otherwise restricted.

Buyers are responsible for ensuring compliance with local import laws, customs requirements, duties, and taxes for international shipments.

7. Shipping Methods & Tracking (All Orders)

  • All shipments are sent using a method that includes tracking, without exception.
  • Tracking information will be provided once the order has shipped.
  • We do not offer untracked shipping under any circumstances.

Shipping carriers and service levels are selected based on destination, parcel size, value, and reliability.

8. Insurance Coverage (All Orders)

  • All shipments automatically include $100 CAD of insurance coverage at no additional cost.
  • Additional insurance may be purchased at a rate of $3 CAD per additional $100 CAD of coverage.
  • Customers are strongly encouraged to insure high-value orders appropriately.

Insurance coverage applies to loss or damage occurring during transit only and is subject to carrier claim procedures.

9. Damage, Loss & Claims

  • Any damage or loss must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Photographic documentation of packaging and contents is required for insurance claims.
  • Claims cannot be initiated without tracking confirmation.

Failure to purchase adequate insurance may limit reimbursement to the default $100 CAD coverage.

10. Packaging & Handling

All specimens are carefully packed using appropriate materials to minimize the risk of damage during transit. Fragile items are securely cushioned and clearly labeled.

11. Right of Refusal

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse or cancel any order at our discretion
  • Request additional information regarding intended use
  • Limit quantities or destinations
  • Decline sales where misuse, unsafe handling, or regulatory non-compliance is suspected

These measures exist to protect both the buyer and the seller and to ensure responsible stewardship of geological materials.
