Sales & Shipping Policy
Sales & Shipping Policy
(Radioactive & Non-Radioactive Materials)
1. General Sales Policy
All mineral, fossil, meteorite, and related specimens sold by this store are offered as collectible, educational, and research specimens. Natural specimens may exhibit variations in colour, texture, crystal form, or surface features.
We make every effort to accurately describe and photograph all items. All sales are considered final unless otherwise stated, except in cases of shipping damage, loss, or clear error on our part.
Activity levels listed for radioactive mineral specimens are taken using an SE International Ranger EXP pancake probe, held approx. 5cm from the surface of the mineral specimen with the alpha window exposed. Background measurements are subtracted from the listed rate.

2. Radioactive Minerals – Sales Restrictions & Shipping Policy
Due to the rapidly changing global security environment and increasingly restrictive customs enforcement related to radioactive materials, all radioactive mineral sales are now restricted to Canada only.
Effective immediately:
- Radioactive mineral specimens are sold and shipped within Canada only and are restricted to persons 18+ years of age.
- International shipments are limited exclusively to recognized professional institutions, including universities, museums, government agencies, or licensed research laboratories, and require prior approval and documentation.
Despite full regulatory compliance, private international shipments of radioactive minerals have become increasingly unpredictable due to heightened screening, inconsistent customs interpretation, and seizure risk.
We sincerely and profusely apologize to our international customers for this change. We are deeply grateful for the trust and support shown by our past international clients and thank you for your understanding.
3. Regulatory Compliance (CNSC)
All radioactive mineral specimens sold by this store are naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) and are handled, stored, packaged, and sold in compliance with applicable Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulations, including regulations governing:
- The sale and possession of naturally occurring radioactive material
- Exemption limits for unlicensed ownership
- Safe handling, storage, and transportation practices
Specimens are sold in quantities and activity levels that do not require the buyer to hold a CNSC license for possession, unless otherwise explicitly stated.
Buyers are responsible for ensuring their ownership, storage, and use of radioactive minerals remain compliant with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.
4. Buyer Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk
By purchasing any mineralogical specimen from this shop, including but not limited to radioactive minerals, specimens containing toxic elements, heavy metals, or other potentially hazardous materials, the buyer explicitly acknowledges, understands, and agrees to the following:
Nature of the Materials
- The buyer understands that mineral specimens are natural geological materials which may inherently contain radioactive elements, toxic metals, sharp crystalline structures, friable material, dust, or other physical or chemical hazards.
- The buyer acknowledges that radioactive mineral specimens contain naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) and may emit ionizing radiation at varying levels depending on specimen type, size, and composition.
- The buyer understands that some specimens may pose risks if mishandled, improperly stored, damaged, ground, heated, dissolved, or otherwise altered.
Intended Use
- All specimens are sold strictly for mineralogical collecting, educational, display, historical, or legitimate scientific research purposes only.
- No specimens are sold for consumer, household, medical, cosmetic, therapeutic, metaphysical, “healing,” ingestion, inhalation, or casual use.
- The buyer agrees not to resell, transfer, or provide specimens to individuals who are unable or unwilling to handle them responsibly and legally.
Assumption of Risk
- The buyer affirms they are knowledgeable, or have taken reasonable steps to become knowledgeable, about the nature and risks associated with the specimens they are purchasing.
- The buyer voluntarily assumes all risks associated with ownership, possession, handling, storage, display, transport, and long-term retention of the specimens.
- This assumption of risk includes, but is not limited to, risks related to radiation exposure, chemical toxicity, physical injury, contamination, regulatory enforcement, seizure, or disposal requirements.
Responsibility After Purchase
- The buyer assumes full and sole responsibility for safe handling, secure storage, appropriate labelling, controlled access, and compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations after the purchase is completed.
- The buyer is solely responsible for determining whether permits, licenses, notifications, or registrations are required for possession, transport, display, resale, or importation into their jurisdiction.
- The seller makes no guarantees regarding the legality of possession or importation in the buyer’s destination country, province, state, or municipality.
No Liability
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, the seller shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, seizure, regulatory action, or legal consequence arising from the purchase, possession, use, misuse, resale, or disposal of any specimen.
- The buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the seller from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the buyer’s actions or failure to comply with applicable laws and safety practices.
Acknowledgement of Understanding
- By completing a purchase, the buyer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Buyer Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk in full.
- The buyer further acknowledges that failure to understand the risks associated with mineral specimens does not relieve them of responsibility for safe and lawful ownership.
5. Radiation Safety & Prohibited Uses
We take radiation safety extremely seriously!!!
Accordingly:
- We do not recommend, endorse, or support the use of radioactive minerals for:
- Crystal healing
- Metaphysical practices
- Alternative or folk medicine
- Radiation therapy
- Any wellness, medical, or therapeutic application
- We do not sell radioactive minerals for these purposes, and orders indicating such intent may be refused or cancelled.
- There are no radioactive minerals that are safe for healing, medical, or therapeutic use in any form.
Any claims suggesting health benefits from radioactive minerals are scientifically unsupported and potentially dangerous. We are unable to reply to any questions or inquiries regarding this topic.
6. Non-Radioactive Materials – Sales & Shipping
Non-radioactive materials may be sold and shipped domestically and internationally unless otherwise restricted.
Buyers are responsible for ensuring compliance with local import laws, customs requirements, duties, and taxes for international shipments.
7. Shipping Methods & Tracking (All Orders)
- All shipments are sent using a method that includes tracking, without exception. We currently use Canada Post for international shipments, and Canada Post & Purolator for domestic (within Canada) shipments. Customers may choose which shipping method they prefer, otherwise we will select the best method for shipping your specimens out to you.
- Tracking information will be provided once the order has shipped.
- We do not offer untracked shipping under any circumstances.
- We will only ship to the address provided in the order as shipping labels are automatically generated from the information submitted by the buyer. Please make sure all shipping information is correct. We are not responsible for the input of incorrect shipping info.
- We will no longer ship to, purchase from, or source any mineral specimens from the United States, regardless of destination. This is due to the rapidly declining security situation, inconsistent customs enforcement, and government tariffs applied to international shipments. This decision did not come lightly but was necessary in order to protect our business. We will revisit this decision when cooler heads are in charge. We apologize to all our US customers and thank you for your understanding during these tumultuous times.
Shipping carriers and service levels are selected based on destination, parcel size, value, and reliability. Oversize parcels may incur additional shipping charges.
8. Insurance Coverage (All Orders)
- All shipments automatically include $100 CAD of insurance coverage at no additional cost.
- Additional insurance may be purchased at a rate of $3 CAD per additional $100 CAD of coverage.
- Customers are strongly encouraged to insure high-value orders appropriately.
Insurance coverage applies to loss or damage occurring during transit only and is subject to carrier claim procedures. Insurance coverage does not cover parcel seizure by customs agencies.
9. Damage, Loss & Claims
- Any damage or loss must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
- Photographic documentation of packaging and contents is required for insurance claims.
- Claims cannot be initiated without tracking confirmation.
Failure to purchase adequate insurance may limit reimbursement to the default $100 CAD coverage included with all shipments.
10. Packaging & Handling
All orders are packaged with care to ensure they arrive safely and securely. Items are packed in accordance with all applicable shipping and transportation regulations, using appropriate materials designed to protect the contents during transit.
We take special care to prevent damage, movement, or exposure by using cushioning, rigid containers, and secure outer packaging suited to the item being shipped. Our goal is to ensure every order arrives in the same condition it left us.
To reduce waste and do our part for the environment, we may occasionally re-use clean, structurally sound shipping materials. Re-used materials are selected carefully and never compromise the safety, integrity, or compliance of the shipment.
11. Right of Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or void any order at our sole discretion, including both radioactive mineral specimens and general mineral or fossil specimens, before or after payment has been received.
Orders may be refused for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Suspected fraud or chargeback risk, including inconsistent billing or shipping information, unusual purchasing behavior, or prior payment disputes
- Safety concerns, including indications that a specimen may be mishandled, improperly stored, or used in an unsafe or irresponsible manner
- Misuse or misrepresentation, including indications that specimens may be used for purposes inconsistent with their intended use as collectible, educational, or scientific material.
- Legal or regulatory concerns, including potential violations of local, national, or international laws, shipping regulations, import/export restrictions, or licensing requirements. Any mention of illegal activity involving any such specimens will be reported to the relevant authorities.
- Inadequate, incomplete, or misleading information provided by the customer, including failure to provide requested documentation, permits, or confirmations required to complete the transaction legally and safely
- Destination-based restrictions, where shipment to a specific location presents legal, regulatory, or logistical complications beyond our ability or willingness to accommodate
For radioactive mineral specimens, we may require additional information or documentation prior to shipment to ensure legal compliance and safe handling. Failure to provide satisfactory information may result in order cancellation.
Refusal or cancellation of an order does not imply wrongdoing by the customer and may occur even after payment authorization. In such cases, any payments received will be refunded in accordance with our refund policy, less any non-recoverable fees where permitted by law.
We prioritize safety, legal compliance, and responsible stewardship of all specimens we sell, and we appreciate your understanding of these requirements.
Thank you
