An exceptional and extremely large partial Thorite crystal from the Kemp Prospect near Cardiff Township in Ontario's Bancroft-Haliburton region, the world-renowned Grenville Province mineral district. Weighing an impressive 412 grams, this is a significant cabinet specimen representing one of the largest single Thorite crystals available on the collector market.
Thorite is a rare thorium silicate mineral found primarily in granitic pegmatites and syenites. The Kemp Prospect is a documented collecting locality within the Precambrian metamorphic terrain of the Grenville Province, known for producing exceptional uranium and thorium mineral specimens. Material of this size from this locality is genuinely uncommon.
