The Tripp Mine — better known to Ontario collectors as the Nu-Age Mine — is one of the Bancroft area's most productive sources of well-crystallized uraninite, a relative rarity in a mineral that more commonly forms massive or botryoidal aggregates. This specimen combines defined uraninite crystals with fluorite, an association that speaks to the pegmatitic and hydrothermal environment of the Grenville Province.
Fluorite from this locality provides excellent visual contrast against the heavy, black uraninite, making this both a scientifically interesting and aesthetically compelling piece. A strong example of Ontario uranium mineralogy for collectors focused on the Shield region.
