UO2        UTi2O6

While it doesn’t look like much, this was the primary ore that Uranium was extracted from at the Stanleigh Mine in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. Mildly radioactive with a uranium content of only 0.1-0.2%, it was one of the main Uranium-producing regions in Canada in the 1950s. The town of Elliot Lake was built because of the Uranium mines, though is now a quite popular retirement community. A great piece of Canadian Uranium mining history!
